Welcome to my blog!!!

February 4th, 2007 by Michelle

Well I’ve been tooling around on this thing for over a week now and I think I’ve finally got everything how I want it! I knew HTML and basic CSS going into this but if it weren’t for my brother the professional web designer, this blog would definitely not have come together like this! It’s good to know brothers are actually useful for something! :)

So why do I need a blog anyway, you ask? Well I ask myself that too. I’m typically very shy about putting myself “out there” online so it’s definitely venturing outside of my comfort zone. It also seems a bit silly since I probably have the most uneventful life of anyone I know! Will I have something to say everyday? Not likely.

But this blog does have a purpose! As the title implies, I’m hoping it will help me along in what I like to call my pursuit of artsyness. I have so many creative project ideas and grand schemes floating around in my head on a regular basis that I figured it was about time I buckled down and got serious about focusing on some of them and actually making them happen!

Do I want to take designing digital scrap products seriously? Do I want to join more Creative Teams? Do I want to scrap for hire? Do I want to customize blogs for others? Do I want to learn more about making websites and go into business with my brother? Do I want to learn how to use my camera better? There are some days where I want to do it ALL (and of course the occasional bad day when I could care less if I do ANY of it!) So that’s where this blog comes in. Seemed like a good place to start getting some practice, giving away freebies, etc.

So please excuse the dust for now as I put the finishing touches on this thing. Still need to get the About Me page in order, and then upload some freebies. First up is the kit I used to design my blog outfit. I made it a while back when I needed something to scrap this photo with:

springtimesample

The plan is to get that up sometime this week. I’m excited because I really like how the kit turned out!

So thank you for reading my inaugural blog post! If you actually made it this far you deserve a prize or something. I promise the next ones won’t be as long-winded. :)

I love this!!! It totally feels like a paper page with so much dimension and textures! Everything you created is so detailed and very cool! I like how you did a blue matted cutout behind the paper Eiffel tower and the way you turned the matte for your photo the opposite way! Very unique! :D

Wow, Michelle! I had no idea you had a blog! And it is so pretty! (I still have very little knowledge of how to operate mine to do anything to it, lol!) I will visit often, girl!

And your kit is scrumptious! I can’t wait to download it! The link is so busy I haven’t been able to yet! (that is an awesome sign!) I’m so proud of you! :)
