Photowalking
Have you ever heard of this? I mean . .. I know everyone has heard of bringing your camera along on a walk. But I had no idea that this was actually a popular, recognized activity with it’s own wikipedia page and facebook groups and everything!
I went for a walk around my neighbourhood on Saturday morning just to clear my head and cleanse myself of all that negative energy that built up inside me over the course of this past [very long and hellish!] week. At several times I thought to myself, “darn! I should have brought my camera!” because I kept seeing things that would have been fun to photograph.
Then last night I’m browsing around Facebook and lo and behold! I come across something called Photowalking. Serendipitous I say!
So this morning I went for my first official photowalk. I’m really lucky to live about a five minute walk away from Dow’s Lake and the Rideau Canal which are surrounded by beautiful parks and pathways. I actually ended up getting a little carried away and walked too far! I had to get my brother to come and pick me up. I had walked for an hour and a half and there was no way I could have managed the hour and a half to get back. I didn’t think of bringing a bottle of water with me (d’uh!) and the sun was beating down on me pretty hard!
Anyway, overall it was a good time
I regretted not bringing my big zoom lens because I couldn’t get close enough to the ducks. Lessons learnt for next time!
Here are my pics . ..

I think next time I’m going to go somewhere less pretty and just take pictures of ordinary stuff.
Before I go, just a quick reminder that today is the last day of my Labour Day Weekend sale. I’ll be turning the sale off tomorrow morning at 6:00 a.m. EST before I leave for work. So head on over to my studio to browse the sale items (collections, quickpage albums, my new I Met a Boy kit).
Have a great day!
