Today I held the drawing for my Shop & Win promotion! 

Last time I did a draw like this I was a newbie and didn’t know any better so I hand-wrote all the names on lined paper, which isn’t very professional or sophisticated. LOL! This time would be better, I said to myself. Well I tried to find some type of online random number selector thing that was free and super easy . .. no luck. Then I figured out a way to just print all the names out. At least that was a minor step up. But then when I hit print I was reminded I had no ink left! So here we are again . .. back to square one with hand-written names on lined paper! LOL!

And of course, like last time, I had my friend Dwight officiate the proceedings. However, this time his boss Michael insisted on being present to oversee it all and provide his seal of approval. There was a bit of a power struggle but eventually they decided that Michael would do the more prestigious job of picking the winner and then Dwight was allowed to show it off. So here you go:

And that marks the end of my January Birthay Extravaganza!!! Wow, I can’t believe it’s all over! It was a lot of fun and I want to thank everyone who showed their support in some way, either by commenting here or coming to my chats or by purchases. I appreciate all of you so much and it is always so fun to make new friends! :)

Sooo . .. .what’s everyone doing tonight?  I plan to spend the night scrapping and watching Extras. I just got the DVD’s for my birthday and I’m LOVING it! They won the Golden Globe this year for Best Television Series - Comedy. I highly recommend it if you like to laugh and enjoy British accents as much as I do LOL! It’s written by and stars Ricky Gervais, the guy who created the UK’s “The Office” series on which the American one is based. I swear I cannot so much as look at this man and keep a straight face! He cracks me up so much!

But first I need to go turn the sale off in my store. I was supposed to do that this morning. Oops LOL! Oh well . .. can’t expect much from my brain at 5:30 am LOL!

Well folks I did it! I went tubing and came back alive!

First of all, I had never even been on a ski lift before. I was soooo scared!!!! I’m petrified of heights. My boyfriend had never been either so when we got on the chair for the first time, we had no idea there was a bar you were supposed to pull down so you don’t fall off. We did the whole trip without the bar down. I kept thinking “wow .. this really doesn’t feel safe!” LOL! D’uh!!

Aside from freezing my butt off it was pretty fun! Going down the hill was crazy. The wind and snow flying at you made it impossible to keep your eyes open. And somehow my jacket always got lifted at the back so I literally had a butt full of snow by the end! I didn’t notice as it was happening because I was completely frozen anyway. But as I was driving home I wondered why the skin on my lower back was burning and when I reached back to feel I pulled out like 2 handfulls of snow LOL!

And this is the best shot we got of someone coming down the hill. It was hard to get a good shot!

We don’t have many photos because it was too cold to take your gloves off to use the camera. Kurtis did however manage to get a few videos!

In this first one is our first ride up on the lift. Kurtis speaks German fluently so he had to correct me on the name of the ski hill. And then you’ll hear me ask him if the chair is going to stop or if I have to run off. I’m such a doof! I really had no clue LOL!

And then this is the cool one where you get to come with us down the hill! We were four people in a row chained together by holding onto each other’s feet. We had trouble getting started and it wasn’t really a good run. We went slow and didn’t go far LOL! But it’s the only one we got on video:

Anybody else doing this? I decided to jump on the bandwagon!

In case you have no clue what I’m talking about, it’s basically just a photo-a-day project. There are tons of variations on how to do it but this is where I got my inspiration from: Project 365 at Photojojo

I wanted to keep it all separate so I’ve created a new blog to post my photos. Link is in the right-hand sidebar at the top!

I decided I needed to do this because one of my resolutions for this year is to spend more time on ME. Last year when I started designing I let myself get too consumed with it and I barely ever scrapped anymore. It was a year of many big changes, adventures, good times (and bad times!) and I barely have any photos or layouts to show for it. This makes me sad So I swore to myself I wouldn’t let that happen in 2008!

I’m very excited at the prospect of having this giant album of photos at the end of the year. But I’m also a bit nervous . . . it’s a big commitment and I’m not so great with commitments LOL!

I was born at 8:00 pm on a very cold Northern Ontario winter’s night. My Dad, who is a long-distance truck driver and was away on a trip that week, had *just* made it to the hospital on time. They had planned on naming me Francine. But when my Mom first looked at me she decided I looked like my Dad. Enough so that she thought I should be named after him instead. My father has always gone by his middle name but his legal first name is Michel. So I was eventually baptized Michelle Francine Marie Godin.

Can you see how much hair I had on my head in the above photo!? Thick hair is a cross I have borne since I was born LOL! I mean look at this!

To this day I have so much hair I could share with 10 people and still have enough for myself! LOL!
