Juno: A Movie Review!
Ack! Haven’t blogged in a while. More importantly, haven’t been posting my 365 photos over at my photo blog either! I’ve been taking them, just not posting out of sheer laziness LOL! Well that’s not entirely true. I’m hard at work designing for a big collab coming up soon and that’s been using up all of my computer time lately. Actually that’s what I should be doing right now too. But I absolutely had to come on here and rave about Juno!

So I know I’m late to the party and half the world has seen it already but I only just saw it Saturday night. I knew going in that it was going to be good. Wasn’t expecting to come out balling like a baby! LOL! It’s so clever and witty and funny, but also very touching and emotional and carries so many strong messages about family and love and growing up. I didn’t understand at first why it was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture because they so rarely nominate comedies but now that I’ve seen it I get it! It’s so much more than a comedy!
For anyone who isn’t familiar with the movie, it’s about a 16-year old girl Juno (played by Ellen Page who was nominated for an Oscar for this role) who gets pregnant by her favourite boy ever (incidentally played by MY favourite boy ever: George Michael, euh . .Michael Cera). Perfectly aware that she’s not ready to be a parent and unable to go through with an abortion, she decides to have the baby but give it up for adoption to a couple (played by Jennifer Garner & Jason Bateman) she finds by their advertisement in the Pennysaver. As you can see, the casting was really genius. There’s even a fun cameo by Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office.)
AND to top it all off the soundtrack is killer!!!! I’ve listened to this song on repeat about 75 times today:
(the song is called All I Want Is You by Barry Louis Polisar)
So if you haven’t seen this movie yet, GO! And let me know what you thought of it!
Now I gotta get back to work before my co-collab’ers fire me for being late LOL!

I was sort of on the fence about this movie because I was not sure if they glorified her being pregnant. Now I can see I need to see this one!
I played along with your challenge the other day but I was way to late to post it. Just wanted you to know you did get me scrapping!

I just loved Juno, too. And I think it’s not just a comedy like they make it out to be in the trailers. It really is a touching story, and I agree that it’s perfectly cast. The soundtrack is so cool and I think the end was just too sweet.

i assumed Juno was directed by the same guy that directed Knocked Up because it’s about an unexpected pregnancy, and Michael Cera stars as Juno’s boyfriend (he was one of the goofy kids from Superbad, a close relative of Knocked Up), but it turns out this is not the case
